Neighbourhood Associations

Neighbourhood Associations (NA's) are volunteer committees that work in cooperation with the City of Brantford to improve the quality of life in their community. Each NA organizes and promotes recreation and leisure to area residents.

There are currently 24 active NA's in the city offering a variety of activities:

Leaf and snow removal program

The Neighbourhood Alliance of Brantford has partnered with the City of Brantford to provide neighbours in need of help raking leaves and/or shovelling snow with neighbouring volunteers. If you, or someone you know, is a senior (65 or older) or has a medical condition or disability and needs help, or you are someone willing to volunteer your time or in need of community service hours, you can send your Neighbourhood Association a message through their Facebook page using the links provided below, email neighbourhoodassociations@brantford.ca or call 519-759-4150 ext.5070.

Play in the Park spring program

The City of Brantford has partnered with Sun Life Centre for Healthy Communities, and local neighbourhood associations to bring the community a free Play in the Park program this spring. The #PlayinthePark team is excited to offer a variety of activities, including non-competitive sports, interactive games and more, all tailored to the interest of those attending and weather conditions. Everyone is welcome, however children ages 6 and under must be with a caregiver. Attendees are asked to dress according to the weather and to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. 

This program is offered on Saturdays from April 27 to June 15, 2024 at the following locations:

  • Princess Anne Park (17 Helen Avenue) from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Iroquois Park (19 Iroquois Street) from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Central Park (143 George Street) from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

There is no program on May 18, 2024.

How to get involved in a local Neighbourhood Association
Neighbourhood Association members play a very big role in the success of a healthy and vibrant community. It is as simple as becoming a member or volunteering to help with programs and special events. You can also ask about becoming a member of your NA's executive committee. It will give you a chance to get to know your neighbours and have your voice heard. Call us at 519-759-4150, ext. 5070 for more information on how to volunteer for a Neighbourhood Association.
